Hello everyone! I hope you had a great half-term! We had a great week of chess in the club before half-term. The groups continued with their learning of openings. John Duff Cole visited again and was a fantastic help with the beginners, especially to help answer questions about openings and development. I managed to take some photos during the session and I hope you enjoy them!

We had a wonderful spread in the Colchester Gazette last week. It is so exciting that our chess club has had such positive recognition. I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful group of chess players, parents, committee members, and of course, coaches! Thanks for everyone's commitment to Colchester Junior Chess Club!
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at our short but sweet blog. We have LOADS of great news coming up over the next couple of weeks, which I promise will make up for the lack of content this time. Best of luck to our juniors who will participate in The Brentwood School Tournament this Sunday 27-02-2022, and to our junior, Grace, who will be doing a simul in the club to raise money for her school playground.
